Is anybody else upset and agreeing my thesis here-that Loudoun County/Dulles South is a total abomination of poor, greedy development we wished could have been done/hope in the future be done in a more responsible manner?

I'm sorry you are bitter but nothing in life is constant except chance.
A $50,000 house in the early 50s would have been equivalent to a million dollar house today. $50K could have bought you a mansion in Observatory Heights or Spring Valley DC back then.

yes back in the day before Braddock was paved, and Gum Springs was a horse trail. I know, it's sad, horrible planning.

In other words, you're mad because you can't have your close-in oasis of 2-4 acres anymore.

Only in Virginia would a little village be called some developer-inspired name like "Dulles South." I didn't even know Dulles South existed so I guess I won't miss it.

You want a 3-acre place for yourself and you complain about us consuming "more land than ever before"?

Does. Not. Compute.

I know I've done my fair share of complaining about N.VA, but I've seen a LOT of changes for the better. I'm not thrilled with the shopping centers going up around Rt. 50 in Ashburn, BUT they are building a new hospital near Gum Spring, which, when completed, will be a nice addition. I'll be happy to see a Wegmans close to 28 and 50.

I happen to know that Middleburg will NOT be changing anytime soon and it will be the buffer between the townhouse community build-up in Loudoun. Good for the people of Middleburg for pulling together for it.

I myself recall the days when Ashburn was just built AND South Riding. I used to drive out to the Oatlands when 50 and 15 were a flashing red light. I also work with people who bought in Aldie when Braddock was a dirt road, and MANY of them are happy for the Stone Ridge shopping center and the new construction.

Change happens.
