Orange Line apartment hunting (Arlington, Fairfax: apartment complexes, rent, luxury)

Hello all,

Alright, here's the situation: My wife and I moved to Arlington a year and a half ago to get jobs, we did, and now we both work on the orange line (She works in Farragut and I work in Courthouse). Currently, we live in Pentagon City, but the hassle of switching lines everyday after Rush Plus is making us rethink this arrangement. Working in Courthouse I know I like the area, but have been looking for suggestions. Here's our criteria:

1) Close to orange line Metro (15 minute walk max)
2) One or two bedrooms (doesn't matter)
3) Rent: Anywhere from 1600 to 2500
4) Preferably in the Rosslyn, Courthouse, Clarendon, VA Square, or Ballston areas.
5) W/D in unit.
6) Prefer highrise.

Some of you may say this is impossible, but from what I've seen in the area, its feasible. Specific apartment complexes would be great, especially for research purposes.

I know someone who lives in Randolph Towers in Ballston and likes it. It's a high rise as the name makes apparent. This is about a block from the metro station and it looks like they have 1brs in your price range. Its an older building but they have been updating it lately. Don't know if they are finished or when they will be. I would figure you could expect the newer buildings in the area to go up in price from here.

Dittmar Company and Archstone Apartments own about a dozen high rise apartment buildings along the orange line within walking distance of the metro (many right off Fairfax Drive). Check out their websites for locations and pick the one you like the best. Rents will be close to $1900 for luxury 1 bedrooms (like in Quincy Plaza) and a little cheaper for regular one bedrooms.

The previously mentioned Randolph Towers is owned by Dittmar.
