I saw a fairly large (~eight point) buck on Tilden St between Beach and Connecticut.

I saw a deer from the window of the Orange Line the other day - somewhere between East and West Falls Church, in a grassy area bordering 66. (S)he looked bewildered and sad. We made eye contact for a brief moment and shared mutual sympathy.

If this is a reference to me, Im quite aware there are deer closer in - my (single) comment, some time ago, on a thread about the FFX deer hunt, was only that human deer conflicts are one disadvantage of our building low density suburbs. That does not mean that if we had not built the way we did, that human deer conflicts would be zero.

I'm not really sure what you're referencing, but I started this thread because I saw the video of the deer being rescued from the tidal pool and wanted to discuss it with the people on this forum.

Oh. I did once say something here about development patterns and deer. Glad you werent referencing that, then. Where DO you hear people around here saying deer are only found in the suburbs?

It's just one of those silly assumptions that people state from time to time. I've never bothered to note the time or location when someone makes a dumb assumption, but I wouldn't be surprised if a Happy Hour was involved.

That must have been an impressive sight. The most I've seen have been smaller does, but then again I don't spend that much time driving in DC so I don't have as much opportunity to see them.

I heard a deer foolishly leaped into the lion's den at the zoo a few years ago. Big mistake, Bambi.
