Ok, this may be a silly question. I've yet to see any deer driving around most of Reston. Was wondering if there was some site where there are actual lists of sitings or even a map. We don't have any dear in our neighborhood in Vienna, but I'm going to be moving the Reston soon (Upper Lake Drive) and just was wondering if that would remain the same...

You haven't seen deer in Vienna?! Wow. Lucky you.

Yes, you will see deer in Reston. But then I would have thought you would have seen them in Vienna.

We're in a pretty busy part of Vienna Woods near Ware and Meadow Lane, I've occasionally seen a fox, but that's as big as I've seen wildlife near my house here. I have seen deer on the W&OD trail and on Lawyers Road, but not any in the residential area near where I live...

Nice pix! And if I recall you're not far from Upper Lake Drive, right?

I'm not far from Upper Lakes - off South Lakes Drive near the High School and Walker Nature Center.

Do you want deer? I'd be happy to send you some of the heard that lives in my neighborhood. I counted 14 in my yard at once (7 in front, 7 in the side). I was looking forward to moving back to NoVA for a reduction in the amount of deer (and an increase in the ability of my landscaping to last)

Heheh, I told you it was a silly question. I don't really want lots of deer, but it does make for some nice photos as well as wildlife to watch with my daughter...

The Reston/South Lakes deer are different from Vienna deer....they wear baggy pants and ball caps on backwards. Don't mess with 'em!

I'm sure there's deer in Reston if DC (rock creek park) can have deer why not Reston? But yeah I'd rather see animals at the zoo than in my yard. The last thing I want is to hit one while driving home or something.
