I think if anything Covid-19 ironically will lead to larger offices projects. I read an article talking about how office developers are looking at creating more space per person instead of building spaces that cram more people together. That of course leads to larger buildings.
That's the narrative that's coming out of the commercial development and leasing community. That's not congruent with the direction that many businesses are headed. While it may be true that people will be more spread out, it will likely be due to fewer people coming to the office, not companies taking more office space. On the backside of this pandemic, expect a substantial bump in the percentage of America's knowledge workforce working primarily from home.

Yep. I'm one of those people and we've been given options that when this is all over, I really only need to be in the office like 1-2 days per week instead of all week. Even then my job can be done remotely so it's kind of a "do you want to come in anymore" question that's been posed to us.

I'll add that your decision to not come in every day will likely be paired with your company not providing you a desk that you own 5 days a week.

Yep and the company will be fine with it because they can reduce their leasable footprint. I could really care less as the days I would go in, I'll likely be in meetings for the majority of those days anyways -- not at a desk.
As the article noted a Hallmark movie and Starz series is currently filming as well. The next Halloween movie in the franchise was filmed in 2019 in Wilmington and was supposed to be released for this season but has been pushed for release in 2021 because of Covid-19.

The film and production industry in Atlanta and Georgia now outpaces even California some months. So many soundstages have been built in all areas of metro Altanta its dizzying.
It's a shame that so few of them know the origins of how the industry came to the Southeast in the first place, which of course, is De Laurentis' studio in Wilmington.
Those actors are used to partying in bigger cities though and would spend weekends in Atlanta, flying directly back and forth, not using CLT or RDU much.
That bigger-city environment was the one key ingredient along with the incentives that thrust Georgia so quickly into the new Hollywood, or :Y'ally-wood".
NC used to open the state's checkbook and make direct payments to the production companies for a percentage of what they spent in NC.
Georgia just issues tax credits that are bought and sold for about 90% of face value that anyone can buy to pay their tax liability to the state which is effectively like getting a 10% discount. Pretty clever.
But Wilmy-wood should get more credit for introducing the industry to the Southeast.
