New building proposed by Lincoln Harris to join the "Capitol Towers" (the neo-classic twins) in South Park of Charlotte. The new building is a much more modern format - looks like a technology tenant is is mind. Only 10 stories, so low rise (like most of South Park). Looks like retail and restaurant space is available as well. Walking distance to SouthPark Mall, Piedmont Row, and the new Legion Brewery across the street.

Updated rendering of the 8 story student housing complex on the corner of 14th St and Charles Blvd in Greenville...

East Carolina Student Housing - Dewitt Carolinas

Construction (demolition of existing houses/gas station) expected to start after the first of the year and a 2020 summer opening is planned. Commercial space on the corner.

This will be a few blocks away from the ongoing construction at The Proximity, which also has commercial space on 10th St and is set to open summer of 2019...

Flag confirmed for uptown hotel in First Ward

A 213-room, 13-story Homewood Suites by Hilton will be developed at the corner of North College and East Eighth streets, on a 0.4-acre site that Raleigh developer Concord Hospitality Enterprises purchased for $3 million earlier this year. The rest of the block will be developed by the multifamily arm of Lennar Corp., which is planning a 549-unit apartment project with street-level retail.

The Homewood Suites is still some time out from groundbreaking, as the developer has only recently started the engineering and design phase, said Carl Hren, senior vice president of development at Concord Hospitality. Hren said the goal would be to submit for a construction permit by early 2019 and begin construction by the third quarter. The hotel likely wouldn't open until early 2021.

Why are developers obsessed with suburban flags coming to a CBD?

Our hope for more upscale hotels are Ally Charlotte Center and Legacy Union. We have a InterContinental Hotel Hotel and a Grand Bohemian Hotel under construction. As for my account, Uptown has a good number of nice hotels now.

I am sure every major city has a wide range of hotels in their downtowns.

By the time all the hotels that are plan and under construction, Uptown will have about 34 hotels and center city will put us near 40 hotels

I read that this will be focused on longer term stays. The market for affordable 1-3 month corporate/intern rentals is very undeserved. Not every hotel needs a luxury brand. I think this will meet demand for for a long neglected niche market.

There are too many missing flags in Uptown that cities smaller than Charlotte are grabbing for developers to be building a Residence Inn and a Home 2 Suites.
