Really beautiful design and a great flag to share the block with Ally Financial. This might make the Westin consider a renovation. They are going to have a very beautiful hotel across the street, and while the Westin is a nice hotel, it is feeling a bit 2007.

I'm a little disappointed it won't be a very tall building at only 21 stories, but the architecture looks good and the proportion will work well with Ally Center's 378 feet / 26 stories. The street atmosphere more than makes up for the height too.

I'll take a 21 floor JW Marriott. That is exciting. The base is where the rumored Apple store is to go, supposedly.

Southend Got another midrise announced and it looks also like a highrise is coming to SouthEnd too up to around 200ft:

Yep! I'll take a 21 floor JW Marriott over a big tower that isn't executed properly. This is a good fit for the overall Ally Center and the hotel and office tower will really change this part of Uptown. A great gateway from South End.

Crazy to think just a few years ago the Westin was in a sea of parking lots and is now surrounded by Whole Foods, mixed use apartments, office towers, other hotels, etc...

JW Marriott is a big deal. Another jewel in Charlotte's crown

First Omni, then Westin and Ritz and now this.

I would have been surprise if it was not a JW Marriott. I looked at White site and we had every hotel in the inventory but a JW Marroitt. I pick a Grand Hyatt for Legacy Union Hotel.

Do you get tired of making accounts to talk about Charlotte? I didn't even respond to your post in the Charlotte vs. Raleigh thread because not only what you said is irrelevant to anything I said talking about Atlanta, DC, Chicago, etc. and mega cities.... It has been informative for the OP and I' not going to participate in derailing a thread for someone who makes multiple accounts about Charlotte... Isn't there any other place in the world you care about other than CLT?

Anyway, continue to try and troll. That was my only post engaging and taking the bait Have fun posting about Charlotte. (and yes. I do post a lot about Charlotte. But I actually like the city... It's not like I'm constantly following Memphis and creating multiple accounts why it's not Los Angeles....)

And FYI. The only reason Charlotte was on the tech list was because of the criteria they used which includes Financial Technologies. CLT has a lot of Finntech jobs. It's a major financial hub and it's a low cost city. duh
