Updated renderings of the 12/13 story Home2 & Tru hotel for DTR. Basic box design but I really like the mural screening and overall unique colors that this will add.

603 S Wilmington. The lot that has the small 1 story Baptist HQ. Next to the McDonald's which is also supposed to be getting redone.

John Kane has already assembled 88 acres on 3 of the four corners of the intersection of S. Saunder's Street and I-40 in Raleigh for his massive mixed use Downtown South development. The original acreage identified last year for this project @ the NE quadrant of that intersection will close this year. I think that he ends up with something like 130 acres when all is said and done. I can't help but think that the Flowserve manufacturing site that sits in the middle of all of these land holdings is likely in Kane's sights as well.

Ahhhh thanks guys, that helps -- would rep you both but apparently I've done that too many times lol. Will definitely be nice to have another hotel option over on that end of downtown.

Did the TBJ article indicate an estimated start date ? That site was sold quite a while ago if I'm not mistaken.

As of August 2019 the property was still under contract, no idea if it's cleared yet. The TBJ doesn't mention a start date. IMAPS currently shows the corner lot still owned by the Baptist Convention, with the two adjacent lots being owned by Narsi (the developer).
