Going to be transferred to Fayetteville for approximately one year. I have heard that a Fayetteville subdivision called Van Story Hills is a nice place to lease a home (when available). I've also been told that Van Story Hills is not especially diverse. If so, I might not like it. I am a white Democrat and prefer racially-diverse neighborhoods.

Thanks for any information, comments, etc.

VanStory is nice and is attached to a good school district. But it is pretty much lillly white. If you look closer to Churchill Drive/Raeford Road, closer to Max Abbot Middle School and the Harris Teeter, it gets a little more diverse. The Morganton Road side of the neighborhood is less diverse.

There are very few if any neighborhoods in Fayetteville that are not diverse. Van Story Hills is an older established neighborhood with some expensive homes. There are three houses for rent there at the moment with rents from $1000 to $1600.
