Hang on, let me ask the stoners next door..seriously though, It all depends..Unless i am really pyzzed about something..even if i have had a bad day, put me out with happy people and i quickly forget the unhappiness of the day
i can get pretty pissy as well, i also get some pretty bad rage while driving too (ie too many red lights or just idiot drivers) in general though i forget about it after awhile and move on with my day and life.
i dont let the real small shtit bother me like i used too
I don't really agree with the basic notion that people really act all that happy in public. When I go to the grocery store, post office, shopping mall or whatever I typically see as many scowls as smiles. I'm generally friendly and courteous by nature but I don't go walking around smiling like an imbecile either. The other day when I mailed a package from the post office there were 7 or 8 people in line. The employees were going out of their way to be friendly to the customers but almost everyone in the line seemed grumpy and didn't even respond when asked how they were doing today. I would hate to have to deal with the public in any job just because there are so many rude and disagreeable people. So to answer the question I don't think that people in public seem to be the happy campers that the OP suggests they are.
I see quite the opposite, maybe its where I live, but especially around Christmas, some people look as if I would make their day by putting a slug in their head.
Just bc you don't walk around with your troubles on your sleeve everyday, don't assume they don't have any. It's maturity and character.
