There is always the possibility that the person you run into may not be the same jerk they were and you may have a good conversation. One person said hello and that he was a coke head but found Jesus and is different now. He apologized for any past discretions and shook my hand. This could happen.
When you go out into public places. Don't be surprised by all the familiar faces you may see. Friend. aquaintance, or enemy handle yourself with dignity

There's 1 or 2 more lines but I forget. I try to avoid posting my poetry on message boards, but I guess Im having a weak moment. Please do not steal. Not that this poem is so great anyway, but have some respect for my intellectual property.

A friend of mine ran into a kid that used to bully him at a bar recently. Here's the general text of the encounter...
FRIEND: Hey man, look over there.
ME: What? Why?
FRIEND: Is that goddammed Jake C_________??
ME: Holy crap! Yes it is!
FRIEND: That sunnuvab*tch stomped on my glasses in fifth grade. Here, hold my drink.
He shoved his drink into my free hand and made a B-line for this bully. The next thing I heard was a mass of air purging from Jake's lungs. He had strolled right up, made solid eye contact and buried his fist wrist deep in the guy's solar plexus then he poured a nearby beer on his head and dumped an ashtray over his wet hair before returning to collect his drink.
I love when I run into a female who barely spoke to me in high school and says something along the lines like "hey I remember we were kickin it in high school and we didnt get together cause blah blah blah"
Or a guy who I had issues with comes up to me and is like "hey man we were the best of buddies in high school remember man"
This year I have been running into many people from my past I would have hoped to never see ever again. These were a odd combination of old bosses, evil coworkers, old girl friends, distant relatives and bad neighbors. I have also ran into old friends who turned evil but keep calling me to get together and I would never return their phone messages.
Have you ever ran when you spotted one of those evil people from your past in a public place or were forced into an difficult small talk session when you run into people unexpectedly? Tell us your story!
Yes - and when I run into these people, if I am in my car, I promptly hit the gas pedal, mow them down, back up to make sure I got 'em, then just for good measure, repeat the process all over again.
The minute I saw the title of this thread I KNEW it was a Refugee56 thread!!! I have to ask ... were any of these people ... beautiful???

Yes, and all those who snubbed me when I was going through my gawky teen years and now they are the gawky, frumpy looking ones. Oh how the tables turn.
Let me guess, you are the beautiful super model now, with extreme self confidence and a PH.D in business administration.

Let me guess they all look like Ugly Betty now....how I hate that show.
Close. I'd say most of those Size 3's ballooned to Size 14s and up. Some take better care of themselves then others. I didn't fit in back then and as a young girl, that hurt! So yeah, I do snicker once in awhile.
