I happen to sit by the 2 loudest people in our office. They are at their loudest when they're on the phone...which is a good portion of the time. They basically talk so loud that the entire office can hear them. I always wonder if it's annoying to the people on the other end of the phone line. Since i basically sit in between them, I get the brunt of it. Actually, when my boss is over here, he rolls his eyes & tells me he feels sorry for me when he can hear one of them. If it gets on my nerves I just put my ear phones in & blast my music (if I can).
One of the loud ones also caughs allll during allergy season...to the point where she's gagging all day. People come up to her & offer her caugh drops but she refuses. I asked her once about what the dr has said & she said she never went for it, as she doesn't want to have to take medication. So we get to suffer through it (Oh and she doesn't cover her mouth at all when she caughs)
I do customer support over the phone. People walk up to my cube and act like im supposed to put my phone on hold and answer there question. Most of the time I simple ignore them and let them stand there a long as they want until they either leave or get the hint.
Ugh I feel your pain. I have a "cougher". She has a chronic condition exasperated by her obesity (her words not mine) and coughs incessantly non-stop all day long. It's like listening to a barking dog. I have to do the headphones thing while listening to "elevator music" in order to reduce the noise to a level I can sort of ignore. Between her and the phlegmy smoker's-cough guy who sits behind me, I sometimes think I'm working in an ICU.

Sounds like she needs to go a different doctor. im not exactly skinny and I don't cough.maybe she needs to lay off the 10 packs of cig. a day.
No one should be on a speaker phone unless there is another person in their office that needs to be involved in the conversation.
I too have someone that always talks on tge speaker phone. I have simply walked over and closed his door. He didnt have a problem with it. I think he knows he talks loud. He should simply close his door.
