Would you think it`s weird that a neighbor keeps coming on your property and takes something from your property without even asking? It`s not a big deal of an item but it`s the deceit that I don`t like.I personaly would not even do this. The proper thing to do is to ask me. Regardless how petty the item is.

Build a fence?

Is it something like fallen fruit? Share some apples/pears with him/her?

I guess it depends on how close you are, what they are taking and if they bring it back.

Nothing gets brought back nor have they asked. When I see them , nothing is said about it. That`s why I think it`s deceitful. We are not close.

What is it being taken?

And how do they get into the yard? Have you spoken to them about it?

Mainly, it's against the law. They are taking things from your yard without permission and not returning them. That, my friend, is stealing. Call the po-po. I bet they find your things in your neighbor's storage shed/garage or at the local pawn shop.

The OP is being way too vague. Is this neighbor stealing your mail or are they taking pine cones from under your tree?

Yes, the proper thing to do is ask unless there is already an understanding.
My neighbors would ask if they could have apples from my trees. I said yes, anytime help yourself, so I wouldnt expect them to ask every time.
