Water under the bridge but a Volt meter would have shown the output of the Alt (max 12.5 volts) if working properly. Normally the Alt puts out 14.5 V but a built in Volt Reg reduces the voltage to 12.5

That is not correct. A 12.5 volts the battery is being discharged slightly. 13.0 to 13.5 is more like it.

Only advantage to a life time guarantee is if a person intends on keeping the car for many yrs ahead.

I one time paid a shop $98 for a lifetime exhaust system which was very high at that time. Little did they know I would keep the truck for 17-1/2 yrs and they replaced my system more then once during that time...they lost money on me.

Yrs back it was common for people to trade off their car every two yrs so the life time warranty was a money maker.

Some people here from the old school know what I'm referring too.

okay I have the Altima 3.5. I also have the ticking noise and my battery is not charging properly but I had my alternator checked alternator is good and so is the battery. I'm not quite sure what the issue is. really curious about the ticking noise and why the battery isn't charging if you guys could help

My 2003altma. Battery and brake light stays on we just change alternator a few months ago can it be going out again

I have an 06 Altima with the same issue except no ticking and I just replaced the alternator 2 months ago so why is the brake light and battery light goin on and off from time to time???

I have a 1999 nisan altima, first the car would not start back up checked the battery, had to b out water in the up posted and had to get a boost of. Still would not hold charge, so had to buy a alternator. That work but when I start to drive i hear a knock or rattle under the hood. Help!!
