Does anyone own the Altima Coupe? I'm considering the purchase and was wondering about maintenance and overall handling. Its not a big vehicle so 2.5 L seems like a decent amount of power.

Any feedback?

The data on the 2.5 is out there.

2.5 L 4
3175 or so lbs
175 HP / 180 ft/lbs torque
0-60 7.7
1/4 mile 16 or so seconds

I'm not a fan of the Nissan sedans myself, but they tend to cost a little less than similarly equipped cars in their class. For the Altima, the CVT was supposed to be the class leader in terms of technology/price/mileage. A bud of mine has that transmission in a Murano and likes it

Nissan makes some of the best CVT's but I'm still wary of having to replace it at some point down the line considering how expensive they are. I think the Altima coupe is nice but I'd personally go for something RWD.

Any opinion on the 2.5 S versus the 3.5 SE?

I love the Altima coupe.

I've driven a 2.5 and 3.5. I would definitely take the 3.5, but I was pleasantly surprised by the 2.5.

The 3.5 is a much stronger motor. It's a variation of the VQ35 found in the Maxima, G35, M35, FX35, etc.

Grrr being a G37 owner I wasn't thrilled when this car came out considering it looks very familiar to my car and is like 10k less. Get the 3.5 if you get it though the VQ is supposed to be one of the best engines.

The VQ has been on the ten best engines list for I believe over a decade until recently and that’s only because of the renewed focus on fuel efficiency.

The G37 is vastly superior to the Altima Coupe (as was the previous G35..) so I don't think you should feel too upset. Aside from superior driving dynamics, you also have the upper class look and higher quality interior.

I cant speak on performance but i'll tell you its safe. One of my friends in Southern VA had a big accident last week in his Altima coupe and survived without serious injury. The left side of his altima was very torn up especially the left door so its a testament to the altimas safety that he lived and didnt suffer serious injury.

Personally i prefer the sedan.

I test drove one the other day, a 3.5, and I really liked it. Pretty quick, and comfortable, especially for an entry model coupe. I prefer my old 350Z, but I liked it
