I have pretty much narrowed my search to a 2008/09 g37 coupe sport or a 2010/11 genesis coupe 3.8. The Hyundai would have a balance of a 5 year warranty and I assume lower ownership costs. They both have 30-35k miles. Which would you pick? The g37 costs 2k more. I understand maintenance will probably be more on the Infiniti but I do like it more... But want to be money smart as well

And I am open to others
That's actually a fairly tough choice. I'm current owner of a fairly heavily modified 2011 Genesis Coupe RSPEC (20G turbo) and a former owner of a G35. The Genesis Coupe and G37 are both very good cars but will feel quite different and this might help you make your choice. The G37 will be a lot "softer" and more geared towards cruising versus hard driving. The G37 will have the better interior as well. The Genesis on the other hand will be a bit rougher around the edges but in my opinion will be more satisfying to drive. Both cars have great sounding V6's and the Genesis 3.8 is a great powerplant! The Genesis will be the more unique car and people will be asking you about it every time you pull into a parking lot or gas station. I think it's simply gorgeous from a styling perspective although the G37 isn't bad either. The good news is that whichever one you get it's hard to be disappointed with either.
Yeah if the OP would easily choose the G37 over the Genesis Coupe if price wasn't an issue, then I certainly don't see the sense in going the other way over $2k. This is a fairly small amount in the grand scheme of a vehicle purchase.
well it will probably be the $2k and I will have a warranty, and general maintanence should be less. I drove a G37x already but want to drive the sport and the Genesis back to back to see if the price difference is worth it

It's going to depend on what you're looking for. The G37 will ride a lot easier (more comfortable) and the interior is a bit better (nothing ground breaking though). My Genesis Coupe is the RSPEC trim which already rides stiffer than the base trim (stiffer suspension and 19" wheels along with other goodies) and it's also lowered so if you ask my fiancee she'll tell you it rides like ass. I on the other hand, like it quite a bit.
As a teenager during the eighties I remember the Pony well, can't shake the memory. G37 hands down easy pick.
