They own the non-luxury premium sedan market, and sold 59,000 of them last year and outsold Lacrosse, Avalon, Passat CC, Taurus and V6 versions of the 300, Charger and Genesis. So those models should die too, right?
How many people actually have the means to do that in their own driveway? Better tell him not to let his horn chirp when he locks his car either because thats about all it amounts to - or else...
I don't know about killing the Maxima, but I think one other car in Nissan's line up should offer that engine and not necessarily an Infiniti product. I do not think the Altima SE-R was a big seller but it may be time to try it again. However, it may be because the CVTs aren't rated for the higher ouput. The new Infiniti JX crossover which itself is a like a Maxima station wagon at heart gets the older 3.5 engine with just a bit more power than what's in the Maxima, but not the 3.7.
I actually like the Maxima. However, when we looked at used cars they were priced too high in comparsion to other cars. We found them close in price, at least in our opinion, to the G, the TL and the ES 350.
I like to overfill my tires by a few pounds. Hope it doesn't keep honking. The feature sounds pretty neat, regardless.
I saw the commercial for the tire-filling-honk and thought to myself, "Is this the coolest thing they can come up with about a supposedly totally redesigned car?"
They devoted an entire commercial to the fact that the car horn honks when you fill up the tires. Considering that I only have to fill my tires maybe once or twice a year, I am sure not looking at that aspect as a deciding factor when purchasing a car.
Secondly, how hard is it to just get a tire pressure gauge and check yourself as to when the tires are properly inflated?
Just seems useless to me, and seems ridiculous that they devoted a whole commercial to that aspect.

Nissan/Inifniit ads are usually a big miss. But that is a pretty cool feature to me.
Cool feature of this forum I just discovered. I started a thread called "2013 Nissan Altima". I got a message that said "Hey, there is already a thread with that name. Care to post there?"
So here I am bumping an old thread.
My dear Saab was rear ended a week ago and I've had the 2013 Altima for almost 10 days now.
Thought I would pass on my impressions real quick.
Pros
Roomy on the inside. And I mean ROOMY. I am shocked by how much room every passenger seems to have. It's cavernous.
Gas mileage is really good. I got 32 MPG with a 40/60 mix (city/highway).
Keyless entry works very nice. Like the HOLD TRUNK BUTTON and trunk opens. Nice.
Trunk is pretty large.
Handling is decent.
Perfect Bluetooth integration, decent stereo.
In dash info system very nice.
Cons
It FEELS like a big car. Feels wide. I know it is only slightly wider then my Saab but it feels MUCH wider when driving.
No automatic headlights? I know it's a base model, but isn't that pretty standard nowadays? I haven't had a car beep at me for leaving the lights on in a LONG time. Till this one.
Engine noise is pretty loud when you really get on it. Surprisingly so considering...
...it's not the fastest accelerator. I'd say slightly below average.
For this car in its class I'd give it a solid high 7, low 8 out of ten.
My Sonata doesn't have automatic headlights either since it's a base GLS. Only the higher trim levels get that. I guess the Altima doesn't either. I can leave my lights on however, and when I press the lock button twice they'll turn off.
