Mayor David announces completion of Recreation Park Ice Rink and the return of holiday carousel rides: https://www.wbng.com/2021/12/03/mayo...arousel-rides/

For those not familiar, the area is known for having multiple carousels at some municipal parks: https://visitbinghamton.org/wp-conte.../carousels.pdf

https://www.binghamtonhomepage.com/n...l-circuit/amp/

Also, Recreation Park is a nice, pretty big park on the city’s West Side, which is a generally nice, middle class area of the city from around the park going west and south of Main Street: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recrea...rk_(Binghamton)

...As mentioned previously, while Owego/Tioga County isin't really part of the Binghamton area, our news gets tucked in with theirs at a local level. With that said, I can proudly say that in a 3 (or more?) county area, Owego has been the only one to do a worthy commemorative service each Dec7th/Pearl Harbor Day (beyond the 25th, 50th and 75th anniversaries that were done elsewhere). The one exception being....obviously.. 2020(with a downscaled service). This may not matter to many who just see it as past history...but it matters to us, here.

What a coincidence, Tioga - I just read the WBNG article, 'Tioga County commemorates 80th Pearl Harbor Anniversary'. They're a great looking group - and the story was very touching. It matters to me, too.
