There are quite a few rural areas that you might check out: Schuylerville (outside town in Quaker Springs area), Northunderland, Moreau; about 10 miles from shopping. Schuylerville has good school district. (GreatSchools - Public and Private School Ratings, Reviews and Parent Community)

Don't quite know yet. I've yet to fully convince my wife to live up there 12 months of the year. If I was able to, I was probably thinking of Wilton or in that area. We were up there driving around about 6 weeks ago and from the outside, the $300K houses in the Wilton area looked pretty nice.

If I am not successful in getting my wife to agree to living year-round, then Glens Falls is my Plan B. I was thinking then 2nd house. That was I was wondering what the real condition of some of these $150-$175K houses were? A lot of the houses I see on Realty.com, etc. were built around the '30s - '50s. They look decent on the outside, but...
