My g/f & I may be looking into housing in Tioga county, NY & wondered if anyone could tell us about the area nowadays as far as housing, etc. She is on a couple of different Voucher waitlists in NY state & will need housing based on her Disability income &, of course, this voucher. Thanks in advance.

You can rent apartments above store along North Ave for pretty cheap. Also The Broome/Tioga area has one of the most affordable housing markets in america.

Thank you. But we must stay inside Tioga county to rent, as the Section 8 voucher allows only apts in the county not outside (til after a yr of living in the county limits that issued the HUD voucher originally). Ok, I'll keep you posted, & as for now we have no time frame to even receive the voucher -- let alone need an apt yet. Hehe.
But thanks much for the help. I can't wait to get back to hockey-land vs AZ, where its 200 degrees already.
