I'm looking for a shop in the city where I can get an inexpensive baseball cap which I'd use when I go to the gym. Something simple and not ugly but not cheaply made, either. I don't need anything fancy with crazy colors or logos. Plain and clean-looking with solid dark colors is fine.

Can anyone recommend a shop in the city where I can find the above? Manhattan is preferred but the outer boroughs are fine, too.

If you don't have a specific store in mind, could you direct me to a certain street or neighborhood in the city where I might be able to find this? I was thinking of heading to Chinatown, Soho, or the Village tomorrow, but I'd like to get some recommendations first if possible.

Thanks.

Thanks for the recommendation, checked it out but didn't see anything I liked. I'll revisit that site for sure, though.

Any particular streets or neighborhoods I should target in my search? Maybe the ones I mentioned in my original post?

I don't head into the city all that often, so unfortunately I don't have the time to walk around randomly. Thanks for your help.

Jeez, talk about being totally unhelpful. If you don't have any suggestions, why even bother chiming in?

And for the record, I don't live in the city at all. I'm in the suburbs (new to the NYC area) but go into the city once in a while. Just looking for a few tips for the next time I'm in the city. I have had very little time to do any shopping in either the suburbs or the city but I figured I'd have better luck in the city. That's the reason for my original post. And if I'm already in the city and have to hop on the subway to get to a shop in Brooklyn or wherever, no big deal.

Thanks for nothing, though.

I don't know about inexpensive, but on 4th & Broadway in Soho is the New Era Store which basically has all the baseball caps you can find.

An inexpensive baseball cap and you're in the suburbs? Try WalMart, Target, KMart, or any mall. No need to travel to the big city for a hat.
