I'm considereing a job that is on Bleeker St b/w Lafette and B'way. What is the commute like from Penn Station at rush hour? Does anyone do this commute? I think I would need to take 2 subways. I have just had a phone interview but before I go any further I would like opinions.
I did this commute for about 7 years (but continued on into Park Slope). You take the A (express) or C (local) at Penn Station, and then get off on West 4th Street, and get the F (local).
I would estimate, without waiting time, the trip is about 7-10 minutes. The A and the C run very regularly (minutes apart); the F runs slower but during rush-hour faster. There's another train that also goes to Bleeker, but I can't seem to recall the letter/number. It is a shuttle of some sort and may also help at the transfer point.
