How is Jackson Heights not nice? I understand there are some areas that aren't in the best shape, but take a walk through the Historic District.. plenty of really nice houses and apartments, architecturally.

That must be people that only see Jackson Heights from the (7) train on Roosevelt Avenue. The Historic District, about 1 block north of the (7) train is a far cry from the noisy atmosphere on Roosevelt.

However, I would strongly suggest against the average non-Indian or Hispanic person to even consider living there.

Oh shut the heck up please. I wish I can smack you through this computer. Seriously people, the area is very safe and though its primarily South East Asian and Hispanics, there's plenty of people of other ethnicity residing in the area as well.

Yes, the area on Roosevelt Avenue under the 7 train tracks is not so nice as well as being noisy. But go 2-3 blocks north of Roosevelt Avenue and it is quite nice and relatively safe.
