Not a long walk at all maybe a 1/2 mile at the most. You're right by the home depot. You can even take the Q37 from Liberty & 111th (under the train station) and get off @ Rockaway. As far as the area, it's pretty decent. Mostly hispanics and some East Indian folk. Lived not to far from there and never had any problems.

Around 1-1.5 hours depending on service. Add another 30-60 mins if A is running local.
