cheap safe housing for an intern during the Summer? (New York: lofts, dorms)

Can any one help with me cheap, or not too expensive housing for a student during her internship at Wallstreet. It is for 7 weeks starting last week of June till the middle of August.

One of my friends stayed in the dorms over the past summer, and he said he liked it, mind you, they ARE dorms.
