Of course, every time you oppose faith and ignorance with science, you will get the bubbas to point a finger at presumed sinners of all stripes.

Exactly. The same thing has crossed my mind. That we had it, didn't know we had it because we weren't so severely affected by it and so went our merry way, possibly infecting others (or not). There's no way of knowing now.

We'll just have to see how this plays out.

This is a list of countries best prepared to counter a pandemic published in february by the World Economic Forum.

China is in 51st place, US; First.

I know a couple of people who want to be tested for antibodies when it's readily available.

They are testing more people than ever so the cases will continue to "rise."

Here is a breakdown by borough as of 3-20-2020. Note that the two boroughs with the lowest population density, SI and Qns have the fewest average cases per sq. mile. High population density is very very bad for you. BTW I suspect the Bronx count is low.

COUNT | BORO | % OF NYC TOT | square miles | avg cases per sqmi
736 | Bronx | 12.94% | 42.10 | 17.48
1750 | Brooklyn | 30.77% | 70.82 | 24.71
1402 | Manhattan | 24.65% | 22.83 | 61.41
1514 | Queens | 26.62% | 108.53 | 13.95
285 | Staten Island | 5.01% | 58.37 | 4.88
5687 | NYC | 100.00% | 302.65 | 18.79

Staten Island and Queens may have a lower density but neither county is exactly rural. Staten Island and Queens residents may not live as density as people in Manhattan but they ride into Manhattan on a crowded ferry and take the subway. I agree about the Bronx it must be a rising number soon.

Go out. Get some Vitamin D. Don't go near anyone. Wear your mask. Nothing's worse than cabin fever.
I've been eating way too much cake. I need to go out. It's nice out! Will do another grocery run.

I'm surprised that it's the Bronx that's the leading boro. I didn't expect that.
