Apartments that accommodate big dogs (>50lbs)

I like having my big dog as opposed to a small dog. Mine literally is SO quiet and lazy in the house. She sleeps most of the day. On walks she is peppy and happy to be out, but not even really energetic then. I think the breed of the dog matters WAY more than the size in an apartment. Our neighbor has a small dog that I hear running from one end of the apartment to the other all day long. That dog seems unhappy to me, whereas mine sleeping in front of the heater seems pretty content lol.
