I live in Nassau County and find the Barclay's location to be much superior

I think most people would agree that the area around Barclays is a lot nicer than Uniondale. But the sightlines at the old coliseum were much better than Barclays, and Uniondale, for all of its problems, is obviously closer geographically to the majority of the fanbase.

Future fan base will be centered in the Long Island Counties of Brooklyn Queens and Nassau, Blue-Orange country. Have to look ahead to the future when this fanbase extends the western periphery of Long Island along the banks of the East River.

It probably makes the most sense for them to try to work something out for the Islanders staying in Barclays Center and improving the experience and attendance rate together.

The first thing they need to do is fix the ice. That is going to be a 7 figure bill. The rest would have to do with altering the building. That would be tens of millions of dollars. It's not going to happen.

I have heard that the Barclay's center isn't good for hockey. And yes Uniondale is more convenient geographically for most Islander fans.

But with the Barclay's location, you can take the train there and drink as much as you want, and maybe get some drinks afterward in one of the nearby bars. I think that's pretty cool.

Fixing the ice and smaller alterations of the building that would also be general improvements are probably worth it
