Ok im 20 I do plan on coming to Clinton Hill,Brooklyn pretty soon. Im about to start College in a few weeks but I have a question how much money should I have if I want to stay in a hotel for about a week or 2? Also what are some good hotels to stay in Clinton Hill,Brooklyn? Is 1k good enough for a week or 2?
I'm not sure about the prices for an area such as Brooklyn. I think the best advice you'll get is by simply going to hotels.com or another site and getting feedback that way.
I just did some calculations. If you stay for 10 days $1,000 would mean 100 dollars a day towards a hotel room. I know in Manhattan that's unheard of but maybe that area of Brooklyn has some hotels for like 70 a night?
Do this....if you're going to be in the area for more than a couple of days and on a limited budget, stay in Queens, the hotels are cheaper, even though you aren't in BK, you can take a train there. The hotels that are in/near Clinton Hill are going to run you 130-150+ a night for something decent, whereas you can stay in Jamaica. They have spots under 90 bucks, and you have the LIRR and the subways to take you straight to Brooklyn. From there, THEN check out the Craigslist ads, there are some good ones out there, but you will need to do everything in person (so you need to be in NYC first), and then double-triple check out the person renting you the spot so that you aren't getting scammed.
