Since not everyone in NYC is going to be making $100K+ through only one job, I want to know what other side hussles (legal) help you manage and enjoy the city?
No side job here and I don't make close to 100K. Nor do I need a side job.
I pay cheap rent, I know how to cook, and I have no debts outside of student loans. And I live by myself which is probably unheard of. Yet after my basic bills are paid (Rent, transit, utilities, food) I still have close to 2K left to spend for the month.
But I am also born and raised here, so I know doing so means a sacrifice, which mine is a slightly longer commute.
As for side jobs, it all boils down to what you can do and what you are willing to do. And since a lot of people here work more than 1 job, good luck finding a 2nd job.
The only side hustle I partake in from time-to-time is selling on ebay. That's not steady income but if I make the effort, it comes through in a clutch sometimes
Kinda depends on what skillset you have. Best thing is to exploit skills you do have so you don't have to take time out to learn things that you don't know yet (opportunity cost). That being said, if you do want to learn something anyway, for yourself, then might as well see if you can make some extra cash on the side with it.
