Looking for affordable alternatives to apt/coop living in NYC. Currently living in Queens coop (Hyde Park) but very dissatisfied with complex. Zero privacy (walls/floors paper thin). I know more about neighbors sex life than I care to. Heat, hot water a major issue. Facing FlushingMeadows lake, it is COLD. Anyway, I digress....
An article in today's Post has intrigued me. Speaks about living in RV's in UWS Manhattan, parked on street. Not exactly what I have in mind but, are there any RV parks in or near NYC that allow year-round living? Commute not an issue as I am newly retired with a moderate pension. Thanks in advance.

Here's one nearby but it's $80/night, which works out to $2400, so you're better off renting an apartment somewhere.

Maybe you should buy a trailer or a bungalow. https://www.city-data.com/forum/new-y...-near-nyc.html

There are people that live 'quietly' around the outer boroughs in small rv's. It is possible but you need to move around to quieter streets when nimby's get nosey.

There's actually one trailer park in the five boroughs. It's in Staten Island, somewhere near the Gothels I believe.

edit: Actually I think I found it on Google Maps. It looks like it consists more of permanent manufactured homes, rather than a place where you can just drive in with a camping trailer.

Why not just move to an area of the country your money goes further?

They had an article about this in the NY Post recently:

Trailer park living invades New York | New York Post

Apparently the Rabbi being covered in the article no longer could afford his apt in Riverdale, so he set up an RV in the Upper West Side, lol.
