Just as I predicted a few years back - NYCHA is becoming a viable option for the working class....the state of the economy might actually cause the projects to become good again. My father used to hang in Edgemere Houses in the late 60s - early 70s (before it got really bad) and he said the place was pristine. Now it's one of the worst NYCHA in the city, and the worst in Queens.

I was on the train so I didnt get to finish my repsonse if NYCHA continues to develop guidelines for tenants then perhaps those individuals who have a "hand out" mentality will eventually be forced to get a job and become self sufficent. I have an issue with those who want to judge all NYCHA residents as unemployed, filthy uneducated people every person does not have the same story.

I agree that not everyone in the projects are bad BUT, you and I both know the majority of them are. As the saying goes..."one bad apple ruins the bunch". In this case, MANY bad apples ruin the bunch. So you can't blame people for thinking negatively about project hood people. They are basing their opinions on what they've witnessed and experienced.
does anyone know anything about williamsburg houses, wyckoff gardens (including 574 warren st & atlantic terminal)??? Or which is "best" out of those choices, because i currently live in nycha brownsville and i want to transfer to a better neighborhood. Thanks
The people going after Citygirl are the bad ones not her. If you work but don't make enough money to keep paying for a $1,000 apartment you're not allowed to buy a smartphone?

If you do not make enough to meet your rental obligation of $1,000, you should not need to be told that ALL monies, including those meant for "smart phone" purchases, should be put toward your rent deficit before you look to the taxpayers, some of whom do not have "smart phones" themselves, to cover your deficit.
The sad thing is - people do need to be told, then they argue when this is pointed out.
