So many things you can do like go to school and improve your life so you’re not stuck waiting years for the projects. So many people don’t do anything and wait to get into nycha, which is one of the worst developments to live in

For nyc it is only option. Not everyone makes 100.000$ year and can afford even rent a studio which is 1700$ min! And education not always can help you. It is not easy to find well paid job, people after college and with diploma end up having 150,000 students loan bills, paying it all their entire life and make same as others average 45.000-55.000 a year which is getting taxed by ny the most end up with 30,000 after taxes left which makes about 2500$ month. And if you have kids and family it’s extra hard to feed your children even with that income

Stop judging people when you don’t know they life and to let you know I have a career which is NYPD which NYCHA is a stepping Stone when you have to live in the 5 boroughs for work so go to the rich people page and talk that over there thanks happy new year

This is how I know you’re not college educated. The average college grad doesn’t have $150k in student loan debt and they earn more on average than people without a degree. Plus, I’m right instead of waiting a bunch of years for housing in the projects you can do so many things that can net you a higher income. Not spend years waiting for NYCHA which takes forever to even call you.

You’re a police officer or a special officer? I know several NYPD officers and none of them are worried about living in NYCHA so I’m not sure where you are getting at. If you work for NYPD, you can earn enough to afford an apartment if you’re doing overtime.

I read the whole thread to see why would you post this opinion about people you don't know and I couldn't find it. Unfortunately, we live in a world where there will be people working minimum wage jobs. Some older and/or with families. Program like NYCHA are beneficial especially in big cities like NY. The commenter does not need to explain what they do for work to you. Did you ever think that you educated well paid self is still looking for affordable housing in NYC? If not, why are you on the housing connect thread? I didn't see where your comment was justified in their thread. Maybe you can point me to it?
