It looks like it is as I guessed, and as a description on the splash page states its purpose will be (to post new vacancy ads and let you apply for lottery waitlist). I say I'm disappointed, because I was kind of looking forward to its purpose being to overhaul and clean up the extant city application lists in a new clearinghouse, to at minimum groom out such difficulties as noting the quick vs. the dead from those already on the waitlists. (Which every journalist who has ever investigated the system appears to think it needs!)
the building listed is probably one of the best, if not the best, building in the whole program. i have a family member that used to live there. It's going to be a long shot because afaik the building is pretty much full. its not that big of a building to begin with. its a shock they are opening their list. I'm guessing anyone lucky enough to get on the list is going to be parked on it a very long time. a lot of the 1 beds have terraces/balconys there, and there is an underground parking garage. its great they have an online system now. assuming they're doing a lottery of both postcards and online applicants? looking forward to seeing what other buildings open up their lists in the future

The management agent is looking for money. Why would you open the list, if you have a long waiting list.
At probably $250 a pop, that's a lot of money in their account.
Don't they have to keep the money in escrow or something like that? In case they have to refund all or part of it?
There are many people who forget they even signed up for these. Seven, ten years later, most people don't even remember who the agent is, or was. When I asked for my refund, I found out the management company changed. Low and behold, I was told I wasn't on the list, even though I had all my paper work. If they get say, 300 people, that $60,000 in their account. They can use that money for whatever they want.

That's Shad. What happened in your situation, were you able to get the money back?
Anyone hear anything yet from York Hill? Wondering if anyone got on the waiting list?
Nothing yet. It might be too soon, maybe by the end of this month they'll start sending them.
