Will be making a pit stop in Nawlins Tuesday night. Looking for a reasonable hotel in a safe area. Driving up from Florida, so close to the interstate preferred. Any local places to eat close by would be much appreciated too!

Most hotels are near the interstate. What area would you be interested in staying? Near downtown, the airport, somwhere else? It sounds like you may want to make a quick getaway on Wed morning so Metairie around Veterans or the airport may be your best option. That is past downtown on the way west (assuming you will be continuing in that direction) so you won't hit any traffic when leaving.

There is a Ramada Inn on Causeway just off I-10. A block or two away is Acme Oyster House on Veteran's Blvd. They have great seafood dishes of every kind, very typical of the area. I ALWAYS et there when home!
