What a tragedy. I really like Mayor Landrieu and this is a sad day. New Orleans biggest problem is the violence and there is no question about that. Another issue in New Orleans is the alcohol problem. I hope there is a new push from the mayor's office about the dangers of alcohol abuse, drunkenness and the devastating effects. Alcohol should be consumed responsiblity. People must feel safe if New Orleans is going to grow.

Mayor Landrieu has just mentioned that the city has already increased prosecutions for these alcohol related crimes. He is also increasing manpower to deal with New Orleans alcohol problem. While I am one to enjoy a alcoholic beverage and I enjoy that right, those who abuse the right deserve strong punishment.

There is a lot of blame to go around. I put some of the blame the churches that never speak about drunkenness because it's an unpopular topic.

I'm currently recovering from a wreck caused by a drunk driver.

With that said, this really isn't a big deal. It's certainly not the first time a child of privilege has done something stupid.

Bummer man. You are handling it very well.

I think Mayor Landrieu is a guy with moral fiber and I believe he will be transparent in this entire investigation / punishment process.
