I am driving to T or C on Sunday and then onto Las Cruces on Monday morning. I will be returning before Christmas. I do not have a four wheel drive to take, I have an older BMW. Am I being insane? It's to help a relative during a medical procedure.

Should I plan on driving daylight hours only or 8 to 4 when it's not so bad? I drive snow all the time in Colorado but usually keep this car in the garage if it's very snowy, since around town I have a choice.

I'm assuming since your location is Denver you're coming down I-25? Sunday and Monday actually look OK so far as the forecast. Cold up north, but no snow expected at this time. But you know how quickly things can change. They are expecting more snow Thursday, but that should be cleared up by Sunday.

It's like 60 some degrees right now in Las Cruces and T or C, certainly those destinations aren't a factor.

I would go by how the roads are when you plan to leave. Even in far northern states, the roads can be very clear even with snow on the ground --- but if there is a blizzard headed your way, then you need to time your trip.

I've traveled in winter with a two wheel drive often and gone into states where there is always winter snow and didn't run into one snow flake on the Interstates. Most vehicles on the Interstates are not 4-wheel drive vehicles.
