Like the title says. I'm looking for a darn good steak in NM. I'm familiar with Outback, Texas Land and Cattle, Texas Roadhouse, and The Bull Ring in Santa Fe.

This will be for a special occasion so I'm looking for the best. Thanks.

I have not been there yet, but many people seem to like Steaksmith at El Gancho in Santa Fe.

I HAVE been to Rio Chama in Santa Fe, and it is excellent.

I was delighted to find a Cattle Baron in Ruidoso, though I haven't gone by yet!

Tinnie's Silver Dollar is part of that chain now (if I remember correctly), and was probably the best steakhouse ever when we'd eat there on the way home to Midland from skiing at Ruidoso. I haven't been there in 15 years, so I'm not sure how it is now. It's located 30 miles east of Ruidoso in Tinnie on highway 380.

Silver Dollar in Tinnie.
Buckhorn Saloon in Silver City.
And although renowned for their GCCBs, Bobcat Bite in Santa Fe supposedly has a great steak, although I've never tasted it, just saw it.

As far as I know they are.

I haven't had their steak though.

I have a buddy in Hagerman I visit a few times a year. Don't know about the Ruidoso one, but the one in Roswell NEVER disappoints me. A little pricey, but worth it. Good salad bar, good service.
