I went there 3 years ago and was very disappointed by it. It's nothing more than a carnival, which is ok, except for the fact I had to drive 45 miles one way to get there from Las Cruces. LC has the "Whole Enchilada Festival" a month later, and the same company that provides the carnival equipment at the chile festival does it for the Whole Enchilada festival in LC. Other than that, it's just a small cobbling of tents selling food. It's not really a big deal.
Okay we got the link to work. Been having some problems with the computer today. THanks for posting the link.
I thought it was a big thing in NM. Sounds kind of boring now with just a carnival and not much else.
We may ride there anyway on the motorcycle just for the ride.

I think many go just to get their yearly supply of freshly roasted green chile.
Walmart here had some boxes of really NICE mild and hot chile for $13-something.
If I grow NuMex Joe Parker next season, y'all will have to try some. It's my favorite variety. The pods I've grown in the past of that variety are really nice.....thick and mostly straight, with a medium heat.
Ive been to Hatch and the people are Very Friendly in that Area and sometimes the small Festivals can be the Best. The Whole Enchilada Festival would be nice to Attend i havent been to Las Cruces in over 20 years its like 200 miles from the center of N.M. I use to love going to the Flea Markert on Weekends in L.C. near the Mountain that to me was as good as any Festival. Ive always liked Treasure Hunting and the Flea Markets and Yard Sales are the Best Places to find that Priceless object or just to meet the local people. Someone was mentioning about Furniture sometimes you can buy some Great Furniture made or Reupholstered in Mexico at some Great Prices at that Flea Market in L.C. i think they might have changed the Location. pintada kid at webtv.net
I have always heard that it is an overhyped venue not really worth the trouble.
But....I've never been myself, so I don't know whether or not that's true.
