Hi. I am a senior and do not drive. Am thinking of moving to Deming and wonder what transportation options are there.

It looks like the only transportation option is shuttles
that run to other small towns around there.

An option might be to call various retirement facilities
and see if they run a grocery/shopping shuttle.

There is a bus system called the Corre Caminos that runs from around 7am-5pm Monday-Friday, though my numbers may not be accurate! I think it's $3 each way that you want to go. The bus will take you anywhere within (I think) around 6 or 7 miles of town, but they've taken me out further without saying anything.

There are buses with regular routes around town, but you can also call ahead and have them pick you up and take you wherever you want. They say to call 24 hours in advance to make sure they'll be free, but they've always been able to come right away when I've unexpectedly needed a ride.

There are routes to Silver City and Lordsburg as well- not sure if the fare changes. There isn't a single taxi here though, so don't get caught out after hours! On Friday and Saturday night, there is an evening-only bus for the bar crowd.
