Does anyone know how traffic will be like around 11 am Wednesday night on the NJ turnpike next week? Planning on leaving around that time to drive down to Virginia from NY. Thanks.

Many people will take half days that day for travel so if you are in North Jersey expect to hit traffic by the time you get anywhere near Trenton. If you already in Southern Jersey when you start at the time you leave you are in much better shape barring weather of course. 11:00AM is way better than what the roads will look like once 4:00pm rolls around. Good Luck and drive safe.

Actually you would probably do better to leave between 12am - 2am. Its not just the Turnpike you would have to worry about, its 95 as a whole. Another option you have is to take Route 1 then jump back on 95. Good Luck and drive safe.

You should be fine at that hour (barring any accidents, of course!)

We usually leave E. NC around 12:00 am-1:00 am and arrive in So. NJ around 8:30 in the morning. This year we are going to leave Tues. around 5:00 pm and expect to arrive around 2:00 am. The Turnpike is usually free of much traffic during the late night hours. Safe travels.

Oh definately...soon as you see that sign "Welcome to Virginia" hit cruise control and make sure the seatbelts are on and your hands are at 10' and 2'

Whenever we travel down to South Carolina, there's two states that rule applies too, Virginia and North Carolina. Soon as you hit South Carolina, cruise control comes off and its open roads from there. lol
