I'm a South Indian (Tamil speaking ) and my wife works in Summit.

My kid will be going to elementary school by next year.

I want to buy and settle down in that area and planning to live in the long run.

Can someone suggest a good place to buy a home? My budget is between $400,000 to $550,000?

Here's a good place to buy a home: the future.

Wait a little and save a lot. Meanwhile, you should start to visit towns to get to know the area. Edison, Metuchen, Westfield, Cranford, Scotch Plains, River Edge, Maplewood, Montclair, South Orange, and Millburn will all be good candidates for you to check out.

Good luck!

we have similar criteria. We are looking at Berkeley heights and new providence area. The realtor also add Catham and Summit as part of our searching criteria. We went to check out Millburn last weekend, but not like it too much as it feels crowded. Therefore, it's good to drive around and see the environment first.
