I'm house hunting in the Middletown,NJ and a few houses I went to see are in the belford area close to Rt 36. Being that I have a young child I was wondering if anyone is familiar with this area? What's this area like, is it a nice area or no? Any worries I should have?
Thanks for the help

it's an ok area, if that area is what your budget can afford then it is fine, there are better areas but if your budget is tight then go for it.
concerns over there would be keeping away from a busy road and making sure the property isn't prone to flooding. Also there are some huge open areas that used to be a dump site, I'd be cautious about anything that abuts that. good luck

What he said. It isn't a fancy area, but it is pretty safe, which I'm sure is your primary concern.

You might want to look at the River Plaza section of Middletown. It's close to 35. Prices should be comparable to Belford and it's a great area with great schools.

Thanks for all your help. We went to see two houses in river plaza but the houses need way to much work and were alittle small.
I am also starting to look into the Hazlet area, anyone have any feedback regarding the area

Thanks again
