I am moving to the Ewing/Lawrenceville area of NJ in a few months, and am currently looking for places to live. I have found a location called White Pine Apartments which seems nice viewing it online, and was wondering if anybody here can offer any insight about those apartments/area? It is right next to Rider University.
Another question I have is about the general "rental season" in that area. Since there are a couple of colleges there (TCNJ and Rider) do a ton of places tend to go onto Craigslist for rent starting in June/July in general?
Finally, if anyone has any other recommendations on apartment complexes for the area, I'd be interested to hear them. My constraints are to be close to TCNJ for work, and that they must allow larger dogs (surprisingly a problem even with the few house rentals I've found is that many people do not allow dogs).
Congrats on the job at TCNJ, a fine institution of higher learning ;-). I don't know anything about the complex you listed, though I can tell you that sites like craiglist don't have a great number of listings for Central and South Jersey, it seems you have to a lot of searching on the ground. I doubt the colleges affect the complex rental market much, most students rent bedrooms in houses in Ewing if they live off campus.
As for the overall area, traffic on 295 isn't awful, though routes 1, 31, and 206 can all backup. There's no real downtown in Ewing, though Pennington borough is a quaint little crossroads. Princeton is the liveliest town in the area, along with Lambertville. Hopewell is nice too, and Bordentown is growing. You will be able to get anything you'll ever need to buy along Rt. 1.
