Commuting options from Wood-Ridge to NYC (Cliffside Park, Rutherford: renting, vs, bus) - New Jersey (NJ) - City-Data Forum

Hi all,

Ive been renting in Cliffside Park for the past two years but am looking to move to wood-ridge with two other room mates. Is the 163 the best bet for getting in and out of the city? I know they also have a train but I am assuming that the bus is quicker.

Can anyone offer any info or advice? Also for anyone familiar with the 163 is it easy to get a seat boarding in wood-ridge between 7:30 to 8 AM?

It is only half an hour by train to midtown ny. I am going to guess that the bus will take at least that if not longer... My commute from Rutherford to nyc is much smoother and more pleasant taking the train vs bus and you'll have a similar train ride from woodridge. You have to try both to see what works out better.
