Dude, I rode the NE Corridor trains for eleven years and that's the way we called it, northbound (NY) or southbound (Trenton).

Wrong. Metuchen is more expensive. Just as I indicated.

You are correct. Sorry for my misinformation. I usually caught the express from Metro Park to Newark.

I think the last time I took the train was probably 1998. That's when I was transferred to another company location and had to drive.

Well I hate to break it to you, but you are wrong, they refer it as Eastbound and Westbound.

That being said, the train generally fills up at the Metuchen Station. At Metropark, you CAN find a seat if you are one of the first few people on the train, if you arent, be prepared to stand. This is true for all trains out of New Brunswick between 7am and 730am

Maybe this will make you happy: North Jersey Coast trains also travel along the NE corridor from Rahway to NYC. Those trains travel north and south along the NE Corridor... and the NE Corridor trains travel "east" and "west," once they get south of Rahway .

I rode from Rahway to NYC. So I had it north and south.

You have to understand that not only does the NEC line provide rail service for New York area commuters but it also links to the Philadelphia area as well. It is by far New Jersey Transit's most valuable and important line. Personally having been on it a couple of times I think it's pretty reliable for a rail line that links together 2 major cities.

That's probably because you are one of the first ones on at Princeton and not getting on after hit hit 5 stops. I took it every day from Linden to Newark and back and then from Metro park to Newark and back. The train is completely crowded and I mean shoulder to shoulder standing throughout the car crowded. Maybe it's different between the local vs express trains but it was an unbearable commute. I'm not on Raritan valley and it's hardly ever as bad as Northeast corridor was every single day.

You should reread my post. The 5th stop on the express is NYC.

It's amazing you were under that impression for so long with no one correcting you. When my dad took the train to NYC from Princeton Junction in the 80s it was Eastbound and Westbound and nowadays when I take it, it's still called Eastbound and Westbound.

Not according to NJTransit.... That's why they have a westbound and eastbound platform at Rahway.
