Thanks again, everybody! As to what I will do with the prize, there are SO many things I need, but I'm thinking one of the most pressing, especially with winter coming, is that I need a motion light installed by my front door--it's such a pain coming home after work in the winter and trying to open the door in the dark. I keep putting it off because it's not really a necessity, but I think I'm going to get that done now. Other things will probably be for the condo, too--my daughter took a really cool photograph of autumn trees reflected in the turquoise water in the Nine Village Valley in the Sichuan Province when she was in school in China last year. It looks almost like a painting, and I want to get it enlarged and framed for my living room. That's a luxury item I've been putting off--my basic decor is usually Early Garage Sale and Modern Attic, lol. So, basically I will do house stuff that I've wanted for a while.

If I had any sense, I'd pay it toward the mounting college loans, but hey. Then again, the old Jetta could break down and the decision will be made for me. It seems every time I need a repair, it costs $500.

Don't spend that $500 on a motion light...buy yourself a timer (see below) for your outside lights. WAY cheaper! I have several in my house similiar to the one in the link that I have used for eons. Gives your house the "lived in" look while you're at work or vacation. Not hard to install (I did it myself!)...just replaces your indoor light switch. I think there might be updated digital models out now. Check with your local hardware store.

And, BTW, congrats on winning the contest. Well deserved!

I don't think they cost THAT much, though. I do need a new outdoor light by the front door anyway. The one that was there looks like crap.

But thanks!
