Last night (July 17-18) between approx. 11:30PM-12:30AM, a wallet was lost at Exxon Mobil Gas Station at 185 Rt 17 S, in East Rutherford, NJ. The wallet was white on the outside with the letters ANZ on its outside cover. Inside was cash, various American and foreign driver/pilot licenses and credit/debit cards and permanent resident identification. (The debit/credit cards have already been canceled by the owner.) If someone should happen to find the wallet or any of these documents, please send me a personal message.
Um sorry to say but if you visited the BJ's Club on the opposite side of the highway and observed the types of people who shoplift...errr I mean shop there you will realize that the wallet is gone forever.

It is not my wallet, but I was with the person who lost it. We are not from New Jersey (so I know nothing about any BJ's Club). I know that sometimes people take cash and throw out the rest of the documents. So I thought I would ask in this forum in case any one finds the documents thrown out anywhere else in the area.
(Many years ago, my mother was pick-pocketed in NYC and the her fanny pack with all her documents were returned to her by someone who found the fanny pack minus the cash). It never hurts to ask if by chance someone found something although I/we am/are well aware that chances are slim. The incident was reported to police and the gasoline station has cameras (so the footage might be able to tell the police something about how the wallet disappeared).

This happened to me as well, twice. Once I forgot my purse at a park in Palisades Park and when I went back it was gone. About a week later I received it in the mail with everything but the cash (I was only 16 so there wasn't much). Another time many years ago I had my purse stolen from me at a craps table in AC (had in resting on the ledge under the table in front of me - stupid!) and again, it was mailed back about 2 weeks later with everything except the casino chips and money. Hopefully your friend will have the same fate.
Update: The gasoline station security camera footage shows that driver of the car by accident left his wallet on top of the car and drove off with it still on the roof (meaning the wallet must have blown off on the highway) in the direction of Newark. The driver was back there yesterday morning (before the afternoon's severe rainstorms) and together with the manager of the gas station looked in the area on the highway near the gas station but found nothing. The driver is still hopefully someone might have found the wallet and might mail it back to him (although I remain very doubtful but that would be nice as it is what he would do it if he found someone's property!).
Well, that's one way to blow all of your money away!
