Hey guys my amazing fiance of two years and I are going to grad school in Rutgers ( Newark Campus) and the most important thing to me is knowing that she is safe while I am not home.

Other important things:

Luxury high rise apartments, or at least something very nice. our budget is up to 2,000 dollars at most.

we have cars so the most we are willing to commute is about 15- 20 mins, so other towns around the campus would not be a problem.

an area with a good night life for the young crowd in the early or mid 20's would be great but that is the least of our worries if we don't get something so amazing like hoboken.

we understand that newark is a dangerous city but every city has to have some nice parts.

everything I read is from 2007 or 08 so please help me with this.

also if Hoboken is probably my best option what are some good areas of it and how is the traffic from there to rutgers.

THANK YOU IF YOU HELP ME!! lol

"the most important thing to me is knowing that she is safe while I am not home."

This eliminates living in Newark.

As Nexis suggested, try JC or hoboken. Since you have cars, Bayonne is also a good option. If you're driving, you want to stay East of Newark since you will battle traffic in the morning and again in the afternoon if you choose to live West of Newark.
