I'm planning on relocating to Northern Jersey in about a month. I'm working in Parsippany so I've been trying to find areas where I would be within 15-20 minutes commute but where I also have good access to transportation into the city over the weekends.
I'm a 25 year old female, Chinese American, single, and a working professional. I've been looking at Morristown because I'd heard that it was a good location for young singles but the cost of rent is a bit higher than I'm used to (I'm from Austin, TX!). I'm finding some nice apartments in Morris Plains that is within my price range ($1300-1500). Would anyone recommend Morris Plains as a place to live? Or should I keep looking for other options?
Morristown is like a mini city and Morris Plains is like a suburb both have Railway stations. Morristown has a bit more to offer for a single person then Morris Plains....and more and more keeps going up in that town.
Friends of mine rent a nice apartment on Farmhouse Ln off of Speedwell in Morristown but right on the Morris Plains border. They absolutely love it, I think they pay $1,300 and its a very spacious place with parking, on site laundry, well maintained landscaping. They tend to spend equal time in Morristown and in Morris Plains and have loved the places they've gone in Morris Plains. I think either could work as one is only a few minutes from the other.
